Exploring The Whisky Brands With Rich Histories And Heritage

As most of you reading this will already be aware of, whisky is a drink that has been in circulation for some time. Though you may think this fact to be slightly insignificant, this could not be further from the truth. The fact of the matter is that this has meant that numerous distilleries have been able to, over the years, perfect their recipes, which is certainly to the benefit of the consumer. The knowledge that we have amassed in this industry means that Whisky Kingdom is well-suited to providing you with a rundown of some of the oldest and historic brands currently out there.

Old Bushmills Distillery

Old Bushmills Distillery is the first brand to feature on this list, and rightfully so; many believe this to be one of, if not the oldest whisky manufacturers in the world. Whilst some may point to this simply being in relation to the date that they first acquired a license to be able to distil, it is still an incredible feat. Originating in Northern Ireland, this is a brand which has made a name for itself for being first-class at creating exceptional blends of whisky – you certainly do not want to miss out.

Buffalo Trace

Though the flavours that are typically exhibited by American whiskeys are certainly not quite the same as those found in European blends, there is still much to be said for the smoky sensations. With the first batch of bottles being completed in 1792, Buffalo Trace are certainly not newcomers to this industry. What marks their methods out as different is the fact that they age their drinks in bourbon cases, as this is meant to offer a hint of sweetness.

Ardbeg Distillery

You will be hard-pressed to find someone that is proudly of Scottish descent that cannot identify Ardbeg Distillery as being full of rich history. Having been acting as a brewer of whisky for two hundred and sixteen years, few can match their crafting methods nor understanding of ingredients. Although they are slightly languishing behind the curve in terms of only being in possession of two pot stills, this has not stopped them from competing for top awards within the spirit community. Should you be wanting to sample a Scotch whisky brand, you would be foolish to overlook this without a second glance.

Glen Garioch

Another Scottish distillery which has seen its popularity grow-and-grow as the years have gone on, Glen Garioch are no-strangers to the fine-art of brewing top-tier whisky. Much of their success has been built upon the fact that their headquarters is located incredibly near rich and fertile farmland. From here, they can source barley which has just the right composition and consistency needed for incredible drinks.
