A 2012 limited committee release, to celebrate the first Ardbeg Day - 2nd June 2012. The whisky has been matured in refill sherry casks that were previously used for Uigeadail, before being bottled at 56.7% ABV.
Nose: Smoky, mint toffee, hints of banana, apple, dark chocolate, leather and cinnamon. Oily crushed peat and a hint of lime juice. With water, roasted coffee, smoked almonds, smoked fruits. Flavour: Chewy, warming mouthfeel. Soot, coal tar soap, aniseed, leather and some distant herbal notes. Sweet, maple-cured bacon, creamy coffee, salted cashew nuts, and delicate, tangy citrus. Finish: Long and gentle, revealing soft, creamy vanilla, milk chocolate, and a malty, biscuit-like, barley base.
