Tormore Distillery is famed for its striking architecture, pure water and its unusually tall and slender stills. It sources its water from the Achvochkie Burn, which runs through the granite of the Cairngorms National Park and contributes to the delicate and refined character of the whisky. Its stills unique shape promotes greater copper contact during the distillation process, resulting in a smoother, more refined spirit. Tormore Distillery has a relatively smaller production capacity compared to other Speyside distilleries, resulting in limited releases. This scarcity adds an aura of exclusivity and intrigue to Tormore's single malts. Tormore 1993 - 29 Year Old - Connoisseurs Choice - Gordon & MacPhail takes this exclusivity even further by showcasing a stunning cask strength version. It was distilled by Tormore in 1993 and matured for 29 years in a first-fill sherry butt by the revered and legendary independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. It has flavours of red berries, vanilla, Medjool dates, baked apples and cinnamon and comes at a magnificent cask strength of 54.5% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. There are only 554 bottles in this release.
